Final Fantasy XIII / Final Fantasy XIII-2: Love it or Hate it
« on: May 04, 2012, 04:27:05 AM »
Obvious spoilers ahoy if you have not finished Final Fantasy XIII-2!!!

Final Fantasy XIII-2 was released to answer fan's complaints about the first game. For those that didn't enjoy Final Fantasy XIII or were disappointed with some aspects of it, I'd like to hear your thoughts about the sequel if you played it!

Please don't only post "I loved it" or "I hated it." If you are going to post, please post a full opinion. I'm not asking that you post an essay stating every single aspect of why you loved or hated it, just that you elaborate more than just blatantly says "It rocks/sucks."

I just finished it yesterday, and I loved every second of it. It was a significant improvement in all aspects that FFXIII lacked. While I wish I could have played more than just Serah and Noel for the entire game, I grew to like them, even moreso than the original characters from FFXIII.

so, i'm a little confused, is this favorite individual tracks? or OSTs overall with your favorite mentioned?
You are just naming your favorite OST, and then you can say your favorite track from that OST.

So for example, my actual number one OST is Final Fantasy VI. (I know it's not allowed, just giving an example.) My favorite track from that OST is Searching for Friends,

It'll be like:
1) Final Fantasy VI - Nobuo Uematsu
Favorite Track - Searching for Friends (link if you want too.)

I think it's partially on the developer and/or publisher, because I, more or less, always see the same company releasing DLC. There are some developers out there who don't like the idea of DLC, but there are some out there who view it as a way to improve their game. If it's the latter, then I say it's fine.

If there is one type of DLC that annoys me is on-disc DLC. The content is already on the disc, so why can I use it yet? Instead, I'll need to pay a little extra to have that extra bit of DLC unlocked. Meh. -_-

I don't think there's been a topic like this.  :D Instead of us posting a billion different tracks from every game in history, post the game and then the particular track you like from that game. So if I worded that wrong:

1) Game: ________, Track: _________. (Naming the composer and giving a link to the track is optional)

Final Fantasy games are not allowed to be mentioned, giving that we already have two different topics on that matter.

Ooo, I heard a lot of positive things about this game. I was surprised to see that it was only available in two regions, and since the Wii is region locked, turned down the idea of importing. Glad to see that this game is getting released over here. I will definitely be getting this. ;D

Current Generation / Most under appreciated games of all time?
« on: November 01, 2011, 04:53:04 AM »
What's a game you've played that was completely enjoyable, yet was hated or was vastly under appreciated by a good majority of people? Or perhaps a game that no one has even heard about, but for those who did, you'd be hard pressed to find someone who hated it.

All games apply, including Final Fantasy titles (if any >_>).

I was at school like any other kid, taking my gym class. My elementary school was relatively close to the Waterfront, so when the planes first hit the World Trade Center, our school shook a little bit and the lights turned off for a brief moment. A few minutes later, my parents came to pick me up. All I remember from the look of their faces was complete fright. But I was 7 years old and couldn't understand the weight of it all.

When we got outside, my mom specifically told me to "not look the other way", considering from my school, we could see the Twin Towers perfectly. But when we got in the car, I looked back to see the building on fire. After seeing that, I remember asking "Mommy, why are those two buildings on fire?"

It didn't take me long to catch up on what was really going on, but it was horrifying. I look back on that day, and I can still recall in my memory the Twin Towers on fire. It makes me tear up just thinking about it.

My thoughts and feelings go out to the people who lost loved ones today.

Thanks, I'm fine now. The water has gone down and we didn't lose power at all. All that's going on right now is the wind, which has been blowing relentlessly for the last 3 hours.

But still, I can say we got just a bit lucky. It could have been a lot worse than it had been if Irene hadn't stuck around in South Jersey all day yesterday. Considering I didn't even evacuate my home and that my backyard was a pool by the time I woke up, well, I don't even want to think about the consequences.

We got lucky over here. Just my street was flooded, and the power went out two times yesterday and I think a transformer a few blocks down blew up. When I went to bed, the power was off but it was on when I woke up. Everything's fine here though, I would say we got approx. 6 inches of rain or less. Some places around here did get a bit more though. I hear one of the streets a few blocks down is currently underwater.

South Jersey, however, was completely battered by Irene. Down trees, powerlines, and don't even get me started on the flood. Right now, the storm is in New York so I'd say we're out of the woods.

I hear we may lose power again, and they don't know for how long. I'll be in touch.

This is from a few hours ago. My backyard was a pool! xD

While I have a feeling Irene will have weakened by the time it gets over here, we still need to prepare for the worst case scenario.

Experiencing my first earthquake was... exciting. I wish my little brother can say the same. >_> It was brief and random.

Current Generation / Favorite Boss Fights in any video game?
« on: August 15, 2011, 07:51:39 PM »
(That includes Final Fantasy)

We've all had them. We kept that one save file right before the boss fight. Why? It's either because it was a challenging fight, it represented an epic battle in terms of the story, or the music that played during it was probably just plain awesome. But it's always the one boss that you'll keep coming back to every once and a while.

So what are your favorite boss fights? If you plan on elaborating further, mark it as a spoiler please. :) There's no limit to how many you can put.
