Lots of Questions About Final Fantasy XI

Ok, So as you might know, I am a Final Fantasy Collector. The next one I would Like to get would be Final Fantasy XI, but I am not sure if I should get it. World of Warcraft screwed up my computer, and I got a new computer afterwards (Windows XP). I looked up on the computer, and found out that Final Fantasy XI used less Memory and Ram than World of Warcraft (I have no clue what Ram is, anyways. Thats one of my questions). Will it Mess up my computer?

-How much Ram does FFXI need?
-How much memory does FFXI need?
-How much money does it cost per month?
-Are there any cards or exeptions out there for payment?
-How do I find the amount of memory left in my computer?
-How do I find the amount of ram in my computer?

I'm not really computer literate but from what i understand ram is like the que for the infomation waiting to get into the cpu.
To find out how much you have it should tell you on the black screen when you boot up your computer.
Never played 11 so i cant help there but i hope you find this atleast vaguely useful.
