not very good hopes but one of my 2 psps well the umd slot is broken (the back and the metal cage that holds the disc fell off)

and my other one has trouble playing ff crisis core.
whenever the game is loading a new area, cut scene, etc. it makes a horrible sound and if i flip the eject switch and hold it so the disc is just a little further away from the laser (or whatever it uses to read the disc) it loads fine
but it's annoying as hell |X

Two options on the slot door: you can order new ones on Ebay, or you can hold the old one on with a rubber band. Slip the rubber band on one end of the PSP, then twist it around a couple of times and loop over the other side of the PSP, so the twisted middle is on top of the door.

As for loud loading, that is actually a common problem with some PSP games. Lego Batman is another example. Seems to be associated with the game rather than the PSP.

You need to install a Custom Firmware CFW to be able to boot PSX game from your Memory Stick.

First of all what type of Psp you have? Firmware?

Take care to get what you like or you will be forced to like what you get.

I don't have one yet... Let's say I buy PSP-3000. It will probably have firmware like 5.51
Any exploits for that?

I modded my friend Psp-3000 few days ago but he had Firmware 5.03.

Right now only Psp-3000 with Firmware 5.03 can be modded with ChickHEN.

You can understand what Firmware have the Psp from the box before buying it:

search for this: http://www.consoleworld.org/forum/picture.php?albumid=2&pictureid=159 the letter in red must be a C and the dot must be black.

Here every Psp with a C have 5.03 Firmware... If you get a 5.51 you have to wait for the ChickHEN upgrade.

Thinking about modding my PSP as well, just scared to brick it as I have zero comprehension when it comes to it, also only own one PSP. Also, definitely not willing to buy additional materials. But, for the heck of it: I've got a God of War PSP(don't really know if thats fat, slim, 2000, 1000, etc.) Came with the Chains of Olympus bundle. Most recent upgrade, 5.51 I guess. Any tips/hints for me?
