I think Bram, Oniangel and Sixty finished the story a few months ago and they did some GR grinding but I don't think they play anymore.

Like Wind, I've taken a lot of folks through Vell 1 as well, to show people what to do and get their rank on it. I know of one American group doing really, really well on the game. But a lot of people I'm seeing are still playing WKC 1 style and not getting the new system.

WKC 2 japan. Got another level on my armor. There is a new GR 27 quest and another new quest besides that has the ugliest armor I've ever seen. The accessory looks like taxidermy, as if somebody skinned a ram, horns and all, and the whole thing goes on your back. My guild got a new update and now you can buy GR 26 weapons and armor in the regular shops there.

WKC 2 EU. Most of my friends have quit playing. My US friends are playing and are around GRs 16-18. Kinda boring on that server right now as it's now difficult to find players at my level.

WKC 2 Japan Got one more level on my bow and another on my armor. I can't get signed in to PSN on either the EU or US accounts atm. Hopefully they get this fixed soon and it's not another repeat of this spring.  :-\

I had Caesar as a spear originally too but made him an axe in this game. He's awesome!

EU version: Finished all 4 of my rebirths in the past 3 days. What a haul, but it's done now and I've got my character back to axe/bow and got all the passives except for a couple of the MP/INT/SPR ones.

WKC 2 all day, still continuing our regular Sunday questing for help with GR and items and quests. The room is still busy, plenty of time yet to get in on the fun. Some of the folks attending have expressed disappointment that no FFTogether members aside from me, Wind and FF12GM have attended our Sunday sessions. It's a good time to get ahead on gears and have a full 6 man party to run quests.

I've been hearing quite a bit about this. If the price wasn't so high I'd consider getting it.

Played both my WKC 2 games today. Had a decent team on the EU version so got a lot done. Beat Madoras for the first time on that version. Also got my Sylpheed Bow made and was able to +10 it immediately. Just spent maybe an hour on the Japan version and got another two levels on my new robe. It mainly involves farming items and harvests.

Well the point is to be versatile and switch off, I suppose, depending upon who all is in the party. Some people can't change their job but if you can it helps a lot.

I'm rather tired of bow myself, after having done it on the Japan version all the way up. Having friends at a higher GR than I was, the support job is something I could offer, given I had the worse gear most of the time.

But it's like being stuck, planted in a spot throwing pins at a distance. You can run around with the bow, but to hit you stand still. So it's this static feeling. It's a good job for people who need to be safe and not take risks to their ego or HP. Axe is like throwing all that out the window and hoping for the best. Which of course makes axe more fun.

You can't do it after you've done the conversations or got the Pinewood Chop. It's in one of the shops, I can't remember which one. I don't think it's the chopmaster selling them, it's a seller but I'm not sure.

Spent some time on both versions of the game. Leveled gear on the Japan game, and made some rebirth gear on the EU version.

Technical Help / Re: Reformat PS 3--gulp
« on: September 02, 2011, 05:14:44 AM »
If you knew what I was putting up with during all those guild ranks we many times my character would just stop. Push stick, nothing. I have to hold up the controller to get it to "connect" again. Then the charge would run out and I'd plug in the cable and it didn't charge. Many times I was hoping to god my controller wouldn't quit before the quest was over.

I'm just using the basic controller I got with the PS 3. It's not even a dual shock. It's not entirely the battery, which doesn't charge as high as it used to, but it's at least at 50% so there is something wrong with the cable and the connection the controller isn't always making to the PS 3. I can deal with the USB max message but the controller is driving me batty and I've been putting up with it a long time. I pretty much wore out one of the sticks on WKC 1. But Alteria tells me she went through 2 PS 3's and 3 controllers just on WKC 1 alone so I guess I can't complain about only one controller.

Just to update, I did a Quick Reformat which stripped my game saves and themes (no biggie), but left my accounts all the same with friend lists. Unfortunately it only fixed the USB message for that time I had the PS 3 on. The next time I booted up, got the same message back again.

Then I read online that you get this USB max message if you are using several 3rd party accessories. As it turns out, I'm using an old PC keyboard and a flash drive in my USB ports. Also you can get this message if you have any other wireless devices nearby. That would include my TV and DVR, and the Xbox close by too.

I think the keyboard is the main thing because if I unplug it, then the controller works better.

The downside is that this didn't fix the problem I'm having with my controller not charging, the PS 3 doesn't always realize that I've plugged in a USB cable. The cables I have are also 3rd party.

Result is that I think my problem is my controller is crap and the 3rd party cables I'm using for it are a problem. I'm going to make it worse soon because I'm buying a wired 3rd party controller as soon as I have a little more cash. I'm tired of having to charge up a controller. Same with my Xbox, I got a wired set up controller on there too.

Doing this quick reformat was basically a waste of time. If my PS 3 dies which it will eventually, I don't think I'll replace it. Other than White Knight Chronicles, which is more or less something I'm done with except for occasional fun, there isn't anything I'm playing on my PS 3 that I couldn't play on the Xbox. I just don't like the controller problems I've had with the PS 3 since day 1. The controller is too wobbly and doesn't have the precise control of the Xbox controller. Most games are also on the Xbox so I won't be running out to buy a new PS 3 when my current one dies.

Getting Phoenix Downs is indeed a bit more tedious in IZJS. You'd have to farm them from a chest just outside of the Estersand Village. One good thing is that chests are a 1 zone reset.

But really, Dustia isn't all that crucial either given we now have a guaranteed way to get the Seitengrate. Best thing would be to wait until you can access airships and get the Seitengrate. Then you can level everybody just as fast, having more fun running around more game areas. Another fast way is by going to the Necrohol early and getting Staff of the Magi drop and doing your leveling in there.

I've done my 3rd rebirth on the Japan version. I got the skills trophy on that and have been trying to refine a Mage/Bow build. The difficulty with this build is that, aside from HP/MP passives, the remaining passives for both are completely different. The Bow requires Strength, and the Mage requires INT. Obviously the other passive stats are beneficial to any build. But Mage is skill tree heavy in that two trees are required, even if not taking all the skills from each. So when in comes down to remaining passives, I can get the level 1 passives from all the other trees for sure. After that I can work in 2 of the level 2 passives from from any of Axe, Longsword, Short Sword and Spear. Doing this leaves me with 10 extra SP.

By doing the 4th rebirth, I'd have another 40 points. I can get one more level 2 passive by doing this rebirth. So that would mean +5 in two other stats. I figure that would be nice, but not necessarily crucial.

If I were to only do a single speciality, such as Bow, I could get all the passives in the game and have plenty of SP leftover with no rebirths at all.

They've kind of rendered rebirths only necessary if you plan to dual spec or triple spec.

Might as well use the Georama menu. Your mats won't get any better for your Georama. Geo parts require the use of mainly Tier 1 mats which are not available in story mode once you start WKC 2. WKC 2 has Tier 2 and higher mats in story mode. f you are using a save file from WKC 1 you might have some of the mats. Otherwise you're looking at farming Tier 1 quests or spending a lot of money buying them from other towns.
