Square Enix just announced during the Final Fantasy 25th Anniversary gallery opening ceremony that it will be selling the Final Fantasy Ultimate Box collection.

The first game collection, which is meant to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the series, will feature the PlayStation One versions of Final Fantasy I, Final Fantasy II, Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy VI, the original PlayStation One versions of Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII and Final Fantasy IX, and the PlayStation 2 versions of Final Fantasy X, XI, and XII, and Final Fantasy XIII.

This set will also contain a video disc housing an anniversary celebration video montage, an art book called Crystal Artworks, a Final Fantasy XIV item code for in-game "mogu mogu" earrings, a mini replica of the Final Fantasy 25th Anniversary visual logo drawn by Yoshitaka Amano, and a two-disc music CD featuring songs from the series.

The collection will be out on December 18 in Japan, which is the release date of the original Final Fantasy on the Famicom system in its native country. There is no word on whether this collection will be on sale in North America, Europe or the rest of Asia.

Square Enix announces 25th Anniversary Ultimate Box
« Reply #1 on: August 31, 2012, 04:41:40 PM »
Square Enix is releasing the Final Fantasy 25th Anniversary Ultimate Box in Japan. As you'd figure from the name, it contains a boatload of Final Fantasy games, plus some extra goodies. Let me just get right to it:

Final Fantasy (PS1, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy II (PS1, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy III (PSP, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy IV (PS1, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy V (PS1, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy VI (PS1, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy VII International (PS1, 4 discs)
Final Fantasy VIII (PS1, 4 discs)
Final Fantasy IX (PS1, 4 discs)
Final Fantasy X (PS2, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy XI Vana Del Collection 2 (PS2, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy XII (PS2, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy XIII (PS3, 1 disc)

Special anniversary video disc
Crystal ArtWorks -- an anniversary visual art collection
A two disc anniversary music selection CD
Final Fantasy XIV Mogu Mogu Earring item code
Mini replica of Amano FF 25th Anniversary visual and stand

If it isn't clear by now this is for the hardcore only, the pricetag will make it so: it'll run you about $450. The collection launches Decemeber 18 in Japan through the Square Enix e-Shop only, with no word yet on a possible stateside release.

The announcement was made at the Final Fantasy Gallery event today, where Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata looked back fondly on the series and shared his thoughts on why it's been succesful.

For those who might want to speculate this is the end of the Final Fantasy franchise or close to it, Square Enix CEO said this certainly is not the case, and games will show up on a variety of consoles.

Do this all over the world, make it so that I can buy it without getting a Playstation of any kind, and I'll be hooked ::)
The fun part is probably that I'll never get my wishes granted :(

Have my doubts about this seeing the daylight outside the Japanese region :X

As long you don't have to pay the import fees its probably even a whole lot cheaper to import it. Biggest problem will probably buying one, seems the only way to buy one is through the japanese Square-Enix E-store. Meaning that realisticly the only way to get one here is through Ebay which means almost double the pay :/

Found a backway to try and get one of these  :o
Basically means all my spending money for the next 3 months are spend in a single go as the price of the product + shippingcost + (most likely) import fees will mean the total price reaches a good $700+, but ah well hadn't got myself a graduation present to begin with :P

* Da_Cloud now hopes there are still boxes available

The international version has always been 4 discs. With the 4th disc containing additional extra's like artwork sketches, ect.

All i'm missing is a huge ass tv which is constantly looping trailers of the games and videos and I'm ready to go :P

A few 1 on 1 statues of the character would be nice as well. How much would a 1 on 1 sized statue cost these days I wonder  ::)
