Final Fantasy XIV / Re: FFXIV General discussion topic
« on: December 02, 2016, 10:45:47 PM »
I should probably update on my escapades in FFXIV!

I still play several times a week. Currently maining Bard, i259! I raid with some friends and we're currently on A10S. It's a fun time!

I also somehow ended up co-running the FC I'm in, which is kinda stressful due to the lack of time I have to always log in, but I definitely try!

Hope others are still playing!

It feels quite weird to say this as I haven't been around lately, but welcome to FFTogether!

Glad to see you like FFVIII! It's a game I have a lot of fond memories with. :)

Final Fantasy XIV / Final Fantasy XIV Dungeon and Trial Checklist
« on: July 21, 2015, 09:40:48 AM »
Hey everyone! Long time, huh.

I put together a checklist of sorts of all the new content available as of today (patch 3.05) so for any players who feel like checking their progress or whatnot, this would be a good place to do it! You can use this as an encyclopedic list of all the instanced raids to do in the game. Next to the content are any item level requirements necessary. If there isn't one next to it, then there is no item level requirement for that piece of content.

There's a lot of rumors that Miyamoto might be taking up the CEO role. I also know he wanted to retire soon though, so I'm not sure. xD

I think we should definitely keep the forum around. It may not be an active community anymore, but it's still a very rich mine of information regarding FFXII and FFXII IZJS. FF12GM and others may not be around anymore, but they left a lot of knowledge about that game around. And who knows? In a couple years, that information might be viable to a more mainstream audience again if Square Enix goes through with an FFXII HD on PS3 or PS4.

That said, it's true that the community here has moved on to other places. It does, however, still exist. We all still talk to each other, whether it be on facebook, or FFXIV especially, but it's just a core group, very much a shadow of how it was. I haven't even talked to Momina or Allison in months. Hell, all three of our board mods haven't been around in over a month, and I'm no better either. I'm barely around, and I'm a global mod. There just isn't that much to look over.

Nahh, this site is just close to dying. The are only a few left who really use this site and most of them also talk on a weekly basis through other media like skype, FFXIV (TS), ect.

It's honestly depressing, but at the same time, everyone that I've met here I still talk to for the most part. I really hope some of the stuff stays though because we have a lot of valuable FFXII IZJS guides that nobody else has and I still use them. ;D

I can't say I've been active here myself recently (and regrettably), but forums in general have just become a bit put off to the wayside when expectedly facebook and twitter and tumblr did overtake them easily. But we did do what we set out to do, and that was make and maintain a community. Half of my online friends I would not know without this site.

I went and stickied this topic. I learned a lot I didn't know about enmity reading this, and the fact that I'm pretty familiar with FFXIV and still didn't get this until now means a lot of people probably don't get it either. xD I can forsee it helping a lot of visitors to the forum in the future.

Meet and Greet / Re: I'm back, baby!
« on: September 01, 2013, 08:42:58 PM »
A year ago I worked with a girl on some course and she pretty much dragged me into Doctor Who. After that I started checking out more series and got hooked. Shows I forgot to mention: Sherlock, Avatar (book 2 of Korra is gonna be awesome).
And in other news, I just bought Final Fantasy IV for DS, should arrive this week. I looked really hard but couldn't find copies of VI or IX (which seem like the best parts to me) so for now IV will do.

All the shows you mentioned are amazing. xD

And have fun with FFIV DS! It's no easy game on the DS version. :P

Grinding gil like a mad man to get level 3 weapons.

It's a real pain. I don't have the equipment/stats to fight the adamantoises, nor the luck to get Kills with death on them so I'm farming perfumes off sacrifices. Anyone know a better way to get gil before the big guys like long gui?

Kill the adamantoise in Eden. I know you said you can't Death or fight them, but if you've got at least one or two roles for Fang maxed out, then you can try the Bahamut method. It's pretty easy to do once you get the hang of it.
