Yea man honestly I didn't even know who or what Rush was until it was mentioned in Futurama, lol. I didn't really think the music was like "ohmigod" but its pretty good. As for Megadeth, they're not bad or anything but it's kinda like... "What're you sayyyyying?"... I like the riffs and precussion though. How do you feel about Black Sabbath?

Much like KISS or Bruce Springsteen, Sabbath revolutionized rock in general.

LOL. I'm surprised people here share those feelings, but I have to agree, especially with KISS -- without them there wouldn't have been the Hair-Rock of the 80s, and without that, we pretty much wouldn't gotten our hands on Grunge or bands like SlipKnot and Anthrax in the first place, so, thank god for them. Springsteeeeeen, my man. He opened up the doors for bands like Smashmouth, Goo Goo Dolls, basically bands that didn't have to go the route of hard to be accepted and popular, and without The Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne would just be a stuttering nobody, not the most famous man in the world with the shakes. lmfao.

lol ya. but our age is sorta producing some crappy music lately.  not as good as the oldies like Metallica and Journey, you know? it all ended with the deaths of Buddy Holly, Cliff burton, and Stevie Ray Vaughan.  Rod Stewart's almost there lol.

Alice in Chains and Nirvana were probably the greatest grunge bands of all time, though.  Conspicuously, both of their singers died and the started to go downhill quickly.

It's all a matter of predicament and taste, to me, personally, Limp Bizkit produced great music because I started listening to them and that began my descent into the world of listening to Rock. I mean, I just recently discovered the message of Linkin Park's song "Bleed it Out"... yea, really... ugh... But I find myself still listening to them. Same thing with 10 Years, Rise Against, Story of the Year, Yellowcard... you know what I mean? I like the way they sound, but their messages don't pertain to me personally, they don't "speak" to me. I could say the same for almost all bands though, not all music will speak to you personally, its all about demographic. I mean, I love Slipknot, but my dad never abused me, you know? ON the other hand, theres songs by Metallica, and other bands of that era like Poison and Guns 'n' Roses (off the top of my head, specifically) which some songs really speak to me, but its truly hard to get into older bands now because I've become accustomed to the newer sound. If you know exactly what I mean, then you probably have the same inclination as me where newer songs sound more appealing, even if they're all saying the same crap that you're just like... ugh. It's sort've the reason I stopped listening to Disturbed and Stain'd, the message they sung about was just so far from how I felt that I didn't want to even think about the feelings they were hiding in their words. I dunno, I'm iffy. ...wow. BTW, I like some JRock bands too, Gackt to name one... theres another that's real cool too but for the love of god the name escapes me.... anyway, /textwall
