Even better than White Knight Chronicles and The Last Remnant? :o

Well, LO is very different than both titles. WKC I played to death and loved, but it's a psuedo MMORPG, Last Remnant's system is completely different, where as LO is your traditional Wait and Attack RPG.

Story wise I think LO blows the other two out of the water, but Last Remnant was another impressive title overlooked by many. Same goes to WKC for that matter.

Bottom line, all three are great games, Lost Odyssey is one of my absolute favorite games. :)

So glad to hear you got it working!  You will love this game I am sure of it!

Also in regards to Burning DVD's.  There is a misconception of what speed to burn DVD's at.  Many people will say MAX, while others will say Slowest.  The fact of the matter is you want to burn the disk at half the speed the disk is capable of. For example a Verbatim DVD-R (Best DVD for Games BTW) it will say this on the disk;

4.7 GB
16X Speed
120 Min

What you want to look at is the "16X Speed".  That is the MAXIMUM burning speed of the disk.  So if you have a DVD Burner that can burn at 54X, and you set IMGBurn (Best DVD burning program btw) to 54X and then start the burning process you will notice that the fastest the disk will be burning at will be 16X.  That is because that is as fast as the disk can be burnt.

So, what you need to do is this; you need to look at DVD/CD Burning the same way you would look at developing film.  If you expose it too long it will be overexposed, and if you expose it for to short of time it will be underexposed.  So with that information look at burning the same way.  If you burn at 16X (remember that is the fastest the disk can be burnt at) you will "Under Expose" the disk. and if you burn the disk at X2 it will be "Over Exposed".

What you want to do for future burning is this, take the total number the disk has written on it, and divide by 2, i.e. cut it in half.  So a Disk with MAX speed of 16 will be 8.  If you burn at 8 I will guarantee as long as you did everything correctly with the ISO (patches and stuff), then the disk will work just fine.

This information was collected from AfterDawn, a site that specializes in this type of thing. Ever since I applied this information to my disk burning adventures I have had 0 issues.

Hope this Helps,

Tirpitz - Thank you for your words, I did happen to see your posts at GameFAQS, many of which helped heighten my excitement for this game! I played through FFXII to about level 80 for my main party, and just sort of fell out of the game, so I still haven't beaten it! Will definitely do so now with FFXIIZJS. :)

Thanks for the info on Verbatim discs, I was curious which were best. As for the speed to burn them at, Max speed did give me the terrible disc, however my 2x burn is working fantastically and I've had no issues. With what you've said about "Over Exposing" Do you think I may encounter problems later in the game?

Keep in mind that if you import the game, you will only be able to play on the European server. That is going to mean you cannot import your WKC 1 file into the game, even just in the story mode. You'll have to start your guild ranks over again. However, if you didn't do any online guild ranks and just are doing the story only, it wouldn't be a problem, EXCEPT the game will not let you skip WKC 1 on the disc to start on WKC 2 only. You'd have to play through WKC 1 again in order to get to WKC 2. I can confirm this having played the Japanese version of WKC 2.

Yep, tis true. I only (only..ha) made it to GR10 in the US version. It'd be enough to make a huge bother of it. However, I enjoyed WKC so immensly when I played it, it wouldn't bother me being able to play with a new set of people. Oh, and I hear it's faster to make it through WKC 1's storyline in part two.

Well he can kick some but in the lower stages, here I've just found a video in which you see Reks winning from Belias in stage 10 :D

Dude, you have officially made my day xD I will strive to be an uber-powered Reks as well! (once I unlock that mode. lol)

I realize it's been a couple years since the last post, but with my screen name, and with as awesome a title as this is, it needs to be bumped!

I'm not sure how many fftogether users own an Xbox 360, if you do, you need to purchase LO. If you don't have a 360, with it's cheaper price it's worth picking one up and this absolute GEM of a title.

The limelight is definitely on FF here (and rightfully so) However, LO is practically FF 12.5, produced from the same minds as many FF titles, and a gorgeous soundtrack by the ever-amazing Nobou Uematsu.

I'm absolutely convinced if LO had "Final Fantasy" in it's title, millions more would have heard or have played this game, it's just a shame it went unnoticed by many. It's a story worth listening to! Heart breaking game too, especially the Thousand Years of Dreams. ;__;

Do yourself a favor and pick this up if you have the means, trust me, you won't regret it.

Well SD games and HD tv's don't go well together. Enlarging a small picture will always make things blurry, which is basically the same thing as trying to fit an SD game unto an HD tv ::)

I know, tell me about it xD We do have a large SDTV here, I'll have to do most my playing on that, and bring the PS2 upstairs for late-night play.

Trial mode with Reks is basically impossible. Though once you've unlocked strong mode you can always try out to reach the highest stage possible.

Haha, I just want to give poor Reks some love! Him kicking some butt in Trial mode would be a sweet thing to see.

Really surprised there's been no North American announcement yet. I'm sure it's coming, however, if it's AFTER the EU release, I am so importing this. xD

So hard to pick three. You're killing me, Smalls! ;)

3)Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles  Just something about it, mainly the beautiful theme, and the underlying theme to persevere to save someone dear to them.

2)Great Teacher Onizuka - Opening 1 -   AND 2 - Opening 2 This series is so utterly fantastic, it's hard to pick between bad-arse onizuka in Driver's High, and the later beating up some street punk after his Fuyutsuki. :)

1)Bleach - Opening 2. For similar reasons to #3, the music goes so well with the theme of saving someone you love, with Rukia's situation in this season, the characters coming together for a joint goal provides great energy into each episode. :)
