Ashe's Cure Values start WAY in front of the ones I get on my PS4. For those who are also having problems look at the following post from me on GameFAQS for full details on this:

The only probable solution is for me to write a new section and determine everything again for those whose list starts well in front of mine  :-\

That's one of the issues with using Cure values and not the numbers provided by the RNG. However, if their list starts before yours, they could simply cast Cure until they get a match.

One random number is used to determine whether or not he spawns.

Do you happen to have a list of the spawn order of the chests for us who know how the RNG works?

I have to chime in with LMAO at Square Enix for deciding they had to change the RNG a teensy weensy little bit because gamers on FFT figured out the chest coding.

It's not like that, though. The game most likely uses an external library (code written by a third party) for the RNG. When they re-released this, they didn't change any of their own code, they simply used a newer version of said library. If they really wanted us to stop manipulating the RNG, all they'd have to do is change the seed (a number used to initialize the RNG). Instead of having a fixed seed, they could simply make it time-based. My guess as for the reason why they didn't do this is that they simply wanted a predictable RNG for testing and debugging purposes.

All the explanations are in the first post. Open the second tab (RNG list) in the spreadsheet once you've entered your stats. Though I suggest you actually use Egli's website (he updated it for TZA) since you can't change anything in the spreadsheet without copying it first.

The NPCs use random numbers for their movement which makes RNG manipulation pretty inconvenient.

I'll look into switching them, though I have Vaan hitting 99 strength for damage purposes, and he has one more speed than Penelo (allowing him to deal more damage with Orochi N, albeit only just). Penelo also provides decent white magic for my sub-party as she has access to curaja, which neither Balthier or Fran will. Her curaja will be used with 99 magic in the end-game, so will provide great healing for the sub-party.

My first party is usually Vaan, Ashe and Penelo. The other three are the reserve. Sometimes I split them up into male and female parties. I didn't bother optimizing my setup too much. I want decent job combinations and I want them to fit the characters (how they fit is extremely subjective). I'd like Vaan to be a Monk, but Penelo to be a Black Mage. Compromises will probably have to be made.

@Tifa Lockhart Fan: Welcome back! I bet this summer heat made you stay at home and re-visit our forum. :P

Yes, the rework is definitely larger than anybody had expected. The salt will always be there. If there weren't a rework, people would complain about the lack of a rework. Healers also get a spell with which they can pull other players into an AoE... *cough* out of an AoE.

Btw. I finally cleared A11S. >.>



After two hours of trying, I finally beat the expansion!

I haven't given it much thought since I don't have a PS4 (still hoping for a Steam release). I am not sure if I will try to optimize my setup or just pick all 12 jobs and assign them to characters based on my views of their personality.
