It is so great to see people coming back and updating their guides. It was hella work back then eight years ago, and as much or more work to do so again. Grats to Tirpitz, FF12GM and Chaos, others I may not know of for putting out updated content. Wish I could help, but I don't own a PS 4.

I have to chime in with LMAO at Square Enix for deciding they had to change the RNG a teensy weensy little bit because gamers on FFT figured out the chest coding.

And I have to chime in with LULs at the topics on GameFaqs and videos on YouTube with everyone arguing over the chest farming, stuff everyone here worked out years ago on this forum. I guess all the hullabaloo somewhat inevitable.

Hi everyone, I'm going for Bard which starts at Archer 30/Conjurer 15. The songs/party boosts are amazing, and nobody else in my guild so far is going for Bard so it will help in party formation.

The Coeurl server was really jammed which made doing fetch/find quests difficult without getting drawn into other people's battles. Am in a guild mostly comprised of people from WKC 2 guilds. I may also try a Japanese server since I picked up quite a bit of RPG chat and etiquette from Shirokishi. One can get by in Japanese by creating pre-set chat phrases, doing lots of bowing, putting the party first and self second, and apologizing profusely as needed.  ;)

I did a little more digging on this story. A couple of reasons Square is doing this: one is probably partly due to the fact that the Unreal Engine 3 was finally optimized for Mac OS X, just a couple of months ago. So now games will run on Apple machines which was not the case before.

The Unreal Engine 3 will run on Android, some other phone apps, IPad, as well as PC and all the other gaming consoles. So this means a larger market for game software.

I read too that when Last Remnant was created, at the time the Unreal Engine had not been translated into Japanese, which caused a long delay at SE. Then during the same period, Epic kept re-updating the Unreal Engine, which seems to be the reason SE scrapped Last Remnant for the PS 3, because the updates still hadn't been translated either. The development time on the game just got longer and longer, costing SE more money. They had to get that game out and recoup some of the cost. This all explains too why Last Remnant had so many problems that SE didn't bother fixing. The updates on the Unreal Engine by Epic were just losing money for SE.

But now the Unreal Engine 3 has been stabilized. I also read that the reason for the license is because of the long development time SE is still having so many problems with. They just cannot get a game out because they have been using their own game engines. Apparently Crystal Works, SE's engine, had to be customised for both FFXIII and FFXIV separately. The delay on these games and the problems with FFXIV have added time and money to SE's development. By buying the Unreal Engine 3 license, SE is basically trying to address their long development time problem, which as we know is their biggest problem right now. This year they have not had a single big console release, with only tentative dates for FFXIII-2 atm. So, they are obviously hoping that the Unreal Engine 3 will allow them to speed up development time and get some games released faster.

They really do need to be addressing their eternally long development times, it's ridiculous how long they are taking to release anything, and projects are likely to get cancelled before they are ever released. Maybe this is a step in the right direction.

I've heard this too about the mage, that it is difficult, but if you enroll in the college right away and just have some Restoration magic at the start, there are some benefits to this, whatever these are would be spoilers for me at the moment, so that's all I'm going on for now...

Also have read that the game is vastly different in multiple playthroughs doing different jobs. That is hugely appealing to me, replay value, and changing the experience each time.

Actually, I don't need a game to have whatever Bioware games have, because I have Bioware for that. I don't necessarily need a game to have whatever JRPGs have either, even though story is a very big thing for me, again not every game needs to be the same for me. In fact, it's often better a game DOESN'T have something I have liked in the past, because I like new experiences in gaming. The fact that this game is addicting is huge though, and just about everybody is saying that.  :P

At the time of Oblivion I was probably more into JRPGs, but now lately I'm equally into WRPGs, with Dragon Age II being one of my best plays of the year. Of course I've been a WKC freak for awhile now, but at 6 playthroughs of Dragon Age 2, and 4 playthroughs of Mass Effect 2, I've been mainly waiting for another WRPG to feed my gaming fix.

I think I'm going to head down to the shop to buy this...

The reviews I've read so far and the number reviews are mainly the fanboys chiming in early on the game. But still they are all like 9's and 10's and people wouldn't be giving those ratings if it were really bad. Gamers are quick to say it if an entry in a series is sub par. They are plenty negative if they are fans of a game series and the new one is garbage. Nobody is saying that at all about this title the way they did about Dragon Age 2, which I actually love, but which disappointed Dragon Age fans for the most part.

agreed fully...especially that night I got stuck on the train in Rugby during the bonfires... I'm a little behind on current cell phone technology...but I was watching that Englishwoman on the bus last night and she had her cell phone and was texting her daughter in Wisconsin. Right now I think having a better cell phone is probably more useful than a new computer but it's pay either way, seems to me. For the cell I'd pay a big amount monthly as opposed to one big expense of a computer.
