Final Fantasy XIII Released!
« on: March 09, 2010, 08:31:39 AM »
Let's all celebrate such a momentous occasion and dance. :D I got the game at Midnight, the first to walk out of gamestop with it, as well as the limited edition guide and a free Snow poster.

Well I guess I get my collectors edition game along with the collectors edition guide somewhere today. Though I've got a full day of school never the less so I'll probably be able to play it tonight ;D

Is the US collectors edition the same as the EU collectors edition. Or is one of the only extra's you get a free Snow poster ??

Also just to let it know, everything arrived today. Along with a shipment of figures I ordered a while ago ;D

No, the Gamestop I was at just happened to have an extra Snow poster they didn't need so they gave it to me. It's massive. :o

After playing up to halfway through Chapter 3, I can say the battle system is mildly repetitive in Ch. 1-2 as I expected, but once Paradigms are introduced, in Chapter 3, I can say FFXIII definitely has the best battle system I've played in FF.

The linear feeling is avoided by turning off the minimap, and the story is wonderful. ;D So far a very good score my end.

Jacob, you have been so wrapped up in the hype of this game you'd like it even if it got you in a headlock and proceeded to beat hell out of you! :D

You're partially right. I'd definitely have something good to say about it but then again I would have said so if I didn't like the battle system. ;D It's so much fun, I actually had to take a half hour break because I was focusing too much. But it was worth it, whatever screwups FF13 does have is immediately remedied by its battle system and story.

I don't think that anything I have heard about FFXIII is a "screw up" at all. The point I have tried to make about the game is that it isn't suited to my tastes. Now that doesn't make it a bad game, it just makes it a game that I don't want to play.

Well I won't deny that changing a few things in FFXIII (like being able to set gambits for your party memebers) would have drastically improved the game. But then again I would be able to say that about every game ::)

We can all find fault with any game. Sheesh, even FFXII had things in it that I would want to change in an instant but the vast majority of it was fine. My problem with FFXIII is that there are too many things that I want to change and that is before I've even played the game!
