« on: March 15, 2010, 03:26:51 AM »
i was wondering if there was a boss like Yaizmat that is pretty much the most powerful boss in the game. is there anything like that in this game?

I haven't seen any so far, but there's a few miniboss type things, kinda like Hell Wyrm.

Also I found out that big thing that eats the adamantoise in the one cutscene, yeah, you can't fight it.

Yup there are just follow the missions after completing the story and you will face some darn though monsters. Non of these fights will take as long as Yaizmat though.

Nothing that I've seen, but Square did hint at the possibility of DLC, it's entirely possible that they'll add traditional crazy uber bosses later on.

Push the button. That's why it's there. If it wasn't meant to be pushed, it wouldn't be a button.

The 9000+ DMG Adamantoises on Pulse are enough to be classified as superbosses if you ask me.

that sounds like fun. Epic combat and solve world hunger at the same time. Anyone for turtle soup?

I found out there's something named Long Gui who is a super version of an Adamantoise.

Yeah the strongest enemy you'll find is the Long Gui that will replace later the Adamantoise.

It uses Ultima which Kills Everyone ALWAYS so you need DEF-DEF-DEF to survive and it has 16 Million HP if I remember correctly.

Take care to get what you like or you will be forced to like what you get.

actually now that I've progressed a lot I can indeed say that Long gui is not very hard at all. Vercingetorex is the Hardest enemy in the game. (hunt 64) with approx. 15.6 million hp

I agree that Vercingetorex is the true superboss of the game, your paradigm shifting/optima changing has to perfect with him and there is no warning for his most powerful attack which will probably indeed either kill you or take you down to dangerous HP levels. Characters with low HP (most likely Hope in this case) will not survive at all and you need to have a complete Paradigm of Sentinel's because just having one will not work. There is a time period where he is invisible, heals a huge amount of HP and removes debuffs from himself.  You can just be simply cheap and cast Poison on him for his HP to drain, but this will take a long time and your not going to Five Star him this way.

You will have to be very strategic with him, don't panic and switch paradigm's carefully. The second you panic and start choosing the wrong paradigm's, is the second the battle ends.
