Ex-Death/Gabranth Leveling Trick
« on: May 09, 2010, 05:10:10 PM »
This topic is for people who are not very patient (that's you, MegaFun) with the tedious leveling up. Well, there's a way to do it faster. It's called the Ex-Death Trick. I will explain requirments and such nonsense.

What you need:
The Manual Magic Pot summon
A really low level Character
A Level 100 Ex-Death
A Chocobo Down, Wing, and Feather
A 5x Mulitiplier on the Chocobo's Journey thing
Playing on your bonus day with all Exp up's purchased from the PP catalog
A big stage

Okay, since Ex-Death has an IQ of a peanut he won't really attack you that much. You want Ex-Death to have 9999 bravery so you can practically kill him in one hit. The thing you really want to watch out for is that block that can block any attack. (forgot what it's called) So, when he has 9999 bravery, wait untill you are out of break status and use the Magic Pot. After that you just want to spam HP attacks till one hits. I would reccomend being in EX Mode as you get more Exp when you finish a battle while in EX mode. You should now be a high Level.

You can also do this Trick with Gabranth. I prefer using Gabranth due to the fact that he can't kill you when his in normal mode. The only attacks he can do in normal mode is bravery attacks. If he happens to get in Ex Mode, get the heck away. Chances are he can kill you with one hit. Just get away and wait it out.
The Gabranth version still has the same requirments as the Ex-Death version except the Gabranth Method is ALOT SAFER

Pros
  • Easy Levels
  • Fast Leveling in no time at all

Cons
  • Lack of AP
  • Lack of experience using the lvl 1 character

So there are many ups and downs of using this method of leveling. But the biggest downfall of using this method is the lack of AP needed to master the abilities. I would only use this method if you are really impatient and want a high level really fast. If you happen to die during this method you can still maintain the Exp earned but you won't feel good about earning the Exp.

...

I got Kuja to lvl 80 doing this.
He got at least 900,000 Exp.
He was level 1

So enjoy and abuse.

I wasn't even aware that you can use Gabranth for this. :P I used Exdeath all the way and now I know how to evade his Almagest so well, har har har.

If you want everything (or almost everything) in one shot, the preparation does take some effort, though.

You can use everybody to be honest, they just suggested Exdeath as he's so darn slow (and thus easier to evade).

You can also use Odin or Odin AUTO.

True... but retries don't take long. And it means you don't need to waste the time you take recharging the Magic Pot. It's also a

well, if your using odin, you need to check the stage bravery, because most of the time it's not that high.

That's why the new rules are a huge blessing.

it's also harder to do with Ex-death in the new one, because he can actually block :P

Exdeath's AI has actually improved before he never blocks properly lol.

On the other hand... is it just me or is it harder to dodge chase now?

nope, it's way harder, while in the first one you had 1-2 seconds to see if it was a brave or HP attack in this one it's like half a second so it's more like guessing, which is why i can't use kefka in duodecim, his main plus is that a lot of his bravery attacks cause chase from a distance, but now if they dodge it i'm screwed

exactly, my strategy in the old one was wait a few seconds, then HP attack, it always worked cuz the AI was stupid enough to dodge as i was charging the attack.
