Favorite Paradigm Setups
« on: June 05, 2010, 03:21:04 AM »
What are your favorite Paradigm setups to use for your party? My main party consists of Vanille, Fang and Hope and I use the following paradigms (in the order I gave my characters):

Medic - Medic - Medic = Salvation
Saboteur - Saboteur - Medic = Safe Subversion
Ravager - Commando - Ravager = Relentless Assault
Sentinel - Sentinel - Sentinel = Tortoise
Medic - Sentinel - Medic = Combat Clinic
Ravager - Ravager - Ravager = Tri-Disaster

I admit my paradigms aren't the best in the world, but I was able to take down an Adamantoise using these paradigms.

...Okay, I cheated using Death. ;_; But what are yours?  :)

Syn-Sab-Syn=?
I believe that is the Superiority Paradigm. I usually use it when I have Fang, Hope and Sazh.

By far my favorite is Delta Attack. It's the most balanced and gets me out of the most trouble.

Commando - Sentinel - Ravager

The other good one, which I forget the title, is

Commando - Sentinel - Medic.

Lightning, Snow, Vanille.

Then again... I haven't even gotten Fang yet, or for that matter, I'm not even in Chapter 4 yet.

A Paradigm consisting of a Commando, Sentinel and Medic is the Solidarity paradigm.

Changing that right now.

Prefer Commando, Synergyst and Ravager or Commando, Ravager, Saboteur, with the occasional Medic thrown in. I don't stay in Synergyst or Saboteur long, usually replacing that with Ravager.

Guerilla - great.
Balanced Circle (???) - good.

Aggression
Relentless Assault
Assassination

and the other slots tend to mix between

Premeditation
Overcaution
Tri-Disaster
Offensive Screen
Consolidation
Infiltration

I currently use:
COM COM COM - Cerberus - MAJOR damage dealers, start battles
RAV RAV RAV - Tri-disaster - MAJOR chain boosters
SEN SEN SEN - Tortoise - MAJOR protection
SAB SAB SAB - Infiltration - MAJOR debuffing, chain starter
SYN SYN SYN - Rapid Growth - MAJOR buffing
MED MED MED - Salvation - MAJOR healing
Yeah its pretty awesome, haha. :D

But I went though the entire game using Sazh, Snow, and Vanille:
RAV COM RAV - Relentless Assault - start chains, dealing major damage against staggered enemies
COM SEN RAV - Delta Attack - start battles, SEN provokes while others hack away
COM SEN MED - Solidarity - quick heal from Delta Attack
SYN SEN MED - Protection - Pure defense, SEN provokes & blocks, MED heals all, SYN buffs all
SYN SEN SAB - Premeditation - other defensive Paradigm, but with SAB weakens enemies
RAV SEN RAV - Mystic Tower - build chains while retaining defense

So sorry for the double post, but I have no choice as everytime I try to write further on the last post, it bumps me up to another line making it impossible for me to write. Anyways, mods, could you merge these and delete this paragraph after you merge it? Thanks -Cru

Anyways. each playthrough I like to use different characters. In another one of my playthroughs I used Vanille, Hope, and Fang.

RAV RAV COM - Relentless Assault - build chains, start battles
RAV RAV SEN - Mystic Tower - build chain while being protected by SEN
MED MED SEN - Combat Clinic - major healing paradigm
RAV MED COM - Diversity - continue chain building while healing
MED SYN SAB - Evened Odds - weaken enemies, buff teammates, cure people
SAB SYN SEN - Premeditation - Evened Odds w/o SEN

In this Paradigm Deck, you can use the two best Saboteurs in the game and the best Synergist.

To add onto this topic, my favorite party is definitely Lightning, Sazh and Snow/Vanille, depending on if I want to be physically offensive or magically offensive.

And, my favorite roles for these characters are
Lightning - Commando
Sazh - Synergist
Snow - Sentinel
Vanille - Saboteur

So whatever C-Sy-Se or C-Sy-Sa is is what my absolute favorite paradigm is.

Most monsters don't even live long enough for me to pull out a Healer (medic) :P Even semi strong monsters will fall quickly when using 2 Jammers (saboteurs). Having a healer in every combination is just slowing you down anyway, and against some enemies you rather have a quick ::)
