If you had to pick, would you say you love the game, or hate the game? Explain the reasons why you feel this strongly about the game in this thread and share your opinions.

X is my third favorite ff game (behind VIII and IX). I think it is brilliant. The storyline is fantastic, because it is clear and straightforward. I also find it to be fascinating. The characters are wonderful; Tidus drives me a little crazy, but this is only because of his horrible voice and clothing. His personality and love for Yuna makes him rather charming. Yuna is beautiful and sweet, and I think the romance between her and Tidus is just amazing. Rikku is one of my favorites as well because she is adorable and fun, a good counter to one of the ore serious characters. Lulu's air of mystery and *ahem* well-endowed assets make her a memorable character. Kimahri, Auron and Wakka are all great characters as well.

As for the battle system, I personally love the turn-based play. This may be because fast paced games freak me out, but it makes strategic battling much easier. As for difficulty of battles, i think X is one of the toughest. VII and XIII were both very easy to beat for me. VIII is tough, but not too much so. I haven't played every ff so I can't say which is hardest, but I believe there are quite a few boss battles in X that make it very tough.

I love this game as well! though not as intricate as FFIX, nor as action packed as FFXII or FFXIII, it is still one of my favorite games in the series, much more so than FFIII or FFVI...

It hasn't aged very well to me.  I don't have a problem with CTB in and of itself, but once you have stuff like Quick Hit etc. it just kinda falls apart.

i'm in the middle, but leaning towards dislike i liked the story and (most of) the characters, and at first i liked the sphere grid, but the sphere grid just got too complicated later in the game, and i didn't like the removal of the ATB, and the summon system was too dang confusing so i almost never used my aeons.

so i didn't like a lot of things about FFX, but it had enough redeeming qualities that i can't put "hate it"

Right now, Final Fantasy X stands as my least favorite Final Fantasy and I don't think anyone can make me reconsider.

Well, I promise you, one day I will. You put Yuna to shame.  :-[

I love all FF games, and this is no exception. Not to mention, this was my first FF game and I have to love it for that, even if I think it's smack dab in the middle of the FF games in terms of ranking.

I don't like Tidus.

I don't like Lulu.

Sometimes, I downright despise Yuna.

But I freaking LOVE this game. I loved the Battle System, I loved the way the Aeons worked (FFXII actually did it better, if not for how weak the Espers were. :( FFXIII did it best.)

And... yea, I dislike Tidus and Yuna, but at the end of the game, I liked them both. They both developed into grade A people. Can't go into any further detail, about to go to work. But I will edit this and put more into it later.

I found a superb and recent review of Final Fantasy X that can be found here and I think you guys should read it, if you like. It touches on everything awesome and not so awesome about FFX, and it's nice and logical and balanced with very little bias. Give it a read if you like!

^Pretty much exactly how I feel about the game, my main difference with his complaint is that I never used Lulu or Auron, opting instead for keeping dozens upon dozens of weapons each designed for Tidus, Wakka, Kimahri and Yuna.

It's not that I dislike Auron, but I made up a a little thing where Auron never actually fought for or with the main party except for against Yunalesca, Seymour, Sin and Jecht.

In short, what I mean to say is that I loved the equipment system.

I like the game. I don't LOVE it but I also definitely dont hate it. It doesnt help that I played Final Fantasy XII right before this which I immensely enjoyed so this seemed like a step down from that. I dont really like any characters except for Jecht and Auron, Tidus is a pretty good main character though. And the story just feels a bit... annoying in places.

I, like with FFIX, loved this game.

Different battle system, the CTB system, which I also loved as much as the ATB system. I loved the whole game, the story, characters (my favourite is Lulu), and I loved the Sphere Grid.

I liked the game, but I didn't love it. The whole religion is the villian has been done so many times already in video games that this story line didn't impress me too much. However, I did enjoy it and I loved visiting all the temples and finally defeating Sin in the end. It just wasn't ground breaking for me.

I wasn't fond of the linear game play and I wished that I could have explored the world more. (If I can breed chocobo's in VII while a large meteor is headed for the earth, I can veer off the summoner path!)  The melodrama kind of got annoying too at times.

I liked the characters. Yuna is one of my favorite FF girls and Auron is one of my favorite FF characters overall. Tidus was annoying and the laughing scene is one cutscene that makes all other horrible cutscenes oscar-worthy. (Why is there no Skip Scene button!?) Kimahri was a good character but I wish he had some more character development in more parts of the story. Rikku is simply amazing. I don't know why so many people hate her in battle, her Mix combinations are simply next to badass. Lulu and Wakka... eh. I didn't like them from the beginning but I learned to like them as the story progressed more and learn about more about them.

The battle system was also nice and it was nice to be able to switch out the characters. The only thing that would have made it perfect is if when your party died, you would be able to bring in the characters that were sitting out to finish the battle like in XII.

Overall I found the game good.

Good point. I find myself agreeing. I mean, if you can switch in battle, surely they should run in and take the other guys place should they fall?
