Well there's always the Star Ocean games, P3 Portable, although I've never played these games. Also FF1 and 2 for PSP.

With Sony being in such control with the PSP, there really aren't "western" RPGs on the PSP. One to look out for is White Knight Chronicles, coming soon, which is originally a JRPG, but the PSP version is being made by another company, not Level 5. Another would be Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest is more action/adventure, but seems to have weapon classes and is coming out from Warner Bros. Rockstar titles would be another place to look for something more "open," but really you'll be scraping to find anything close to an RPG that isn't a JRPG.

Bafflin, the PSP version seems to be a spin-off story from WKC 1. That said, I don't think it will be very different from WKC in terms of the job classes and battle style, simply because WKC 2 is consistent, to a large degree, to WKC 1. WKC 1 is indeed very like FFXII, in fact they employ a job wheel that looks like the Zodiac wheel in IZJS, and the story is straight out of FFXII, at least the first half of the game.

Jeanne D'Arc might be that game for you, I've heard it is a strategy and turn-based RPG. Not sure if it's western or not, since I have gazed at it a long while ago but I haven't played it.
