Square-Enix quietly sent word out today that they would be expanding the retail offerings for Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep in European territories.

In addition to the game itself, the collector's edition features a hardbound 48 page artbook, as well as two Kingdom Hearts print cards. To distinguish it from the standard version, the outside packaging will be printed with a unique CG design.

No pricing has been given yet, but fans can look forward to picking this up when the game releases in Europe on September 10th.

And I can now consider myself owner of a Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep limited edition ;D

Looks like not being hasty with pre-ordering this game has paid itself off ;D

I wonder how much it'll cost... I'm satisfied with my plain, vanilla copy without anything..

The place where I preordered it the normal edition was €39,99 and the special edition was €44,99. So for 5 additional bucks you'll get a 48-paged artwork book, 2 artwork cards and a nice cover.

That should have been the standard game cover! D= I hope they confirm one for Western territories... or I could just simply move to Europe.  ::)

Either way, this collector's edition has only been announced for Europe. Any preorder bonus has not been announced for the States.

I did read somewhere that North American territories was also getting some kind of a Collector's Edition... of course, I could have misread it and be mistaken.

Oh, there is a preorder bonus for the BBS in USA. They're PSP stickers. >_> Kinda lame.

I'm getting the bundle though, so either way, it's alright. I may get this special edition just later on in the future.

I just thought I'd like to point out that the specific countries getting this edition are: UK, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Benelux, Portugal, Greece, Russia, Cyprus, Australia and New Zealand.

The latter two aren't in Europe but are getting it. :P

Definitely won't come out for North American areas, see Final Fantasy XIII Collector's Edition.

I'm pretty sure Square-Enix has given up trying to be Japanese to North America :-\ and saw Europe as the defining market for a ton of things. What did they miss: the original Chrono Trigger? That's it probably.

I would gladly get this if I could, and people are heckling me about not playing the series too.
