FFTogether's Winter Marathon (organisation and sign up)
« on: October 11, 2010, 06:03:41 PM »
Well I had a good moment when we where celebrating New Year with a bunch of people from different regions and I'm hoping we can redo it this year as well. Like last year I'm looking for people who are willing to help us out with streaming games between Christmas and New Year.

Like last time we'll be using our two screen set-up again. Meaning we'll have a main stream for the non stop gaming and a second stream for commentary or other fun activities.

So if your feeling to help us out sign up here, or if you have some good ideas for this years winter marathon you can also make your comments in here.

I'll be looking to Sixty again and see what we can bring up this year. I'm hoping we will be able to do something big like last summer again. My body was totally broken after gaming for 51 hours (with only 5 hours of sleep), but the fun factor was huge never the less. ;D

As long as we get a date arranged and we start promotions early, there's no reason why this marathon shouldn't be successful.

what date should it be around
Between Christmass and New Year.

I believe last time we started at 27th of December and we finished on the 1st of January. So its probably going to be in that direction again.

Crystal Chronicles won't do Sixty >_>
First of all there is no way you can prevent the GBA's from running out of power. Second of all the game is designed in such way that you'll have to finish each world at least 4 or 5 times before you can even think about trying the final boss.

Say I got ustream working for me.

How does this work exactly, do I have to stream overnight and does it have to be a Final Fantasy game??

Well then we use the characters we used last time, and i will try to make sure we will not ran out of power. :D

That just ruins all the fun. It would mean we can just blindly bash through all levels to get our asses kicked by the final boss again >_>

All players get a time schedule which fits directly behind each other. That way the stream itself will be constant going. The time you play may depend, it can be the morning, evening an even an entire day, depends on what you want to do really. The game doesn't really need to be Final Fantasy though.

But it would be fun to do Final Fantasy since we are an Final Fantasy fan site after all.

But Bram, i really want to beat that dam boss at least once. And Peer is in anyway. We all ready talked about it last year. I bet even Paul wants to help.

If you still say no to this, then we can go do KH BBS, we can divide the chapters.

We better to that alone. That game just isn't suited to be played during a marathon, at least not unless you want to work with 2 separate save files (which just isn't my style).

And Originally I wanted to see if we can do some KH as well, but luck gives that TGS is doing a full KH marathon before Christmas. So if we want to try getting some outside crowd as well its not really a smart idea to redo KH games

Don't know ask wee187, he has more inside on TGS than I do :P

Also lets us first wait to see what's possible and what's not. Maybe we can create a good theme marathon with others, we'll have to figure out our possible time slot in the first place. Unlike the Summer vacations our parents aren't going away during Christmas :P
