Only if you are completely sure of the game's mechanics.

When the darkness of the Abyss threatens the world, the Phoenix will rise amidst a whirlwind of fire and light.

Whisperer: Sometimes there is a very good reason to fear the dark.

true but you all have to admit that fighting Yu Yevon at the end of FFX and not going K.O. and G.O. kinda takes the fun out of especially if you have extremely high powered characters

If you have extremely powerful characters then Yuna is almost definitely among them, meaning that the Aeons you fight first are MORE than strong enough to kill you several times over. That's why the auto-life is needed.

Yu-Yevon and the aeons are just there since the story kinda forced such an ending, BFA is the true final boss if you ask me. But yea even then some bosses in the game where much harder than BFA >_>

Nahh, you can still do aeons fights with your remaining aeons. All you need to do is make sure you end with either Ifrit as he's probably the easiest to kill as he won't dodge that much. Besides late game the aeons are out scaled by your own characters anyway. But I guess that's the "knowing of the games mechanism" which just makes that fight easy. In fact if you know how to use the full power of Rikku's overdrive the game is far to easy to begin with :P

Don't forget
Spoiler: final boss FFIII (click to show/hide)
from FFIII. Basically any final boss on the 2D age are harder then the current versions (Excluding Chaos in later the remakes) ::)

ahhh reviving old threads.... That's what I enjoy about being new to a board :D

I always had a knack (I'd say 'talent' but they're video games...) for the FF games, my self-imposed challenges made them hard. So I can make an argument for any of them, really, either way. Except XIII. I won't defend that side-scroller as an RPG. I won't bash it as a GAME, but I can't consider it an RPG. I did enjoy playing it. Once. But it just doesn't feel like an RPG.

Anyways, my hardest is gonna be FFIX. Not because of the regular gameplay, or even optional bosses. I say this because I'm trying to get Excalibur II. If you've done it or even tried, you know what I mean. Add trying to get Perfect Game on top of that, and yeah....

Easiest... well, I feel bad saying original FFI, since so many considered it a 'hardest,' but I played it first when I was 10 (when it was released in NA), beat it in 10-15 hours, I think (2 days, 2 long days lol). Then did my first ever self-imposed challenge... Beat it without spending any Gil! That took me like twice as long. I don't remember ever getting a Game Over either, but that could be just faulty memory.

The old NES Ultimas were MUCH harder, IMO. :)

Self-appointed Reviver of Dead Threads!
