ahhh reviving old threads.... That's what I enjoy about being new to a board

I always had a knack (I'd say 'talent' but they're video games...) for the FF games, my self-imposed challenges made them hard. So I can make an argument for any of them, really, either way. Except XIII. I won't defend that side-scroller as an RPG. I won't bash it as a GAME, but I can't consider it an RPG. I did enjoy playing it. Once. But it just doesn't feel like an RPG.
Anyways, my hardest is gonna be FFIX. Not because of the regular gameplay, or even optional bosses. I say this because I'm trying to get Excalibur II. If you've done it or even tried, you know what I mean. Add trying to get Perfect Game on top of that, and yeah....
Easiest... well, I feel bad saying original FFI, since so many considered it a 'hardest,' but I played it first when I was 10 (when it was released in NA), beat it in 10-15 hours, I think (2 days, 2 long days lol). Then did my first ever self-imposed challenge... Beat it without spending any Gil! That took me like twice as long. I don't remember ever getting a Game Over either, but that could be just faulty memory.
The old NES Ultimas were MUCH harder, IMO.
