« on: July 23, 2013, 02:25:17 PM »

A team of very ambitious filmmakers have decided to start, which should lead to a webseries about Final Fantasy VII on Kickstarter. The makers have the blessing of Square Enix and may even use the official music. However, Square Enix isn't pumping any money in the project, so therefore the Kickstarter. The makers are seeking $ 400,000 and want to raise the money for August 21.

Here is the Kickstarter page

Also on the Kickstarter page there is 12 minute video with more info, so check it out.

So this will basically become a real life"movie" of the game ???

Already sounds like a failure to me. Though I guess people haven't learned from the past attempts of making a real life show from an anime/games :-X

I'm not impressed, either.

*shrug*.. I wouldn't know how much they can squeeze in all the story line into a single movie, so I won't be expecting much..

However, anyone interested in this, though- you can try reading one of the project worker's non-profit fan-fictional work based on FFVII story line. The author is the guy who is supposed to write for this Web Series according to him.

The story, while still work in progress, is quite interesting read. If you have time that is, though. It's 144 chapters and 382,690 words in total currently. Keep in mind that it was written 7 or so years ago and author was a teenager, though.. Author is quite good in writing, even if I don't know how good the author would be in movie script.. They generally do go around together.

Not one of the best fan-fiction work based on FFVII I have read, but definitely one of the most thoroughly and canon data-based work, trying to fill up all loopholes.

The story start:

Regarding the project The Web Series, Author (Xander a.k.a. Mr. Ite)'s note :

Kain the Crow of the Crow Valley, Mischievous and Unpredictable D.S.
By the way, who know the relationship b/w a fox and a crow?

its not a movie, its a web series. they wanted to do a movie, but changed it to web series because of the story line

Well the story usually isn't the problem. The "Real life" shows/movies often fail because the image of the characters in your head don't match with what you see on screen, which is something that really sets you off resulting in you more questioning who is who than you liking the show :-\

I generally don't mind different appearances much.. I just hope they act well..

...If they don't act well, then.. It utterly destroys my interest of watching next one in line, usually. If it isn't a movie.. I probably will at least check it out when it comes out. (came to hate far too many movies ruining perfectly good books/stories/legends/folk-tales)

This is strange, all over the web it was said that they got the green light from SE, guess it wasn't true then.
