A lot of questions... FF12 PS2 version
« on: April 24, 2019, 02:42:47 AM »
Hi guys.
First of all: I’m not English native speaker so excuse me for grammar errors.
Second of all: thank you for all the work to find tricky methods in this game.
Third of all: here there are my questions:

(Keep in mind that I’m on PS2 version)
1) Is Ensanguined Shield farmable? Is there a chest where you can get it more than 1 time?
2) Is there a way to level up fastly, more than Abyss farm in Henne Mines?
3) Danjuro, is it worth it? I would like to have the fastest weapon for a build that I am doing, but even with the method posted by you, killing monsters with Poison and so on, it takes a lot. What do you think? Keep in mind that I’m not doing a “Perfect Run”
4) Best equipment for Yiazmat?
5) Is there someone still playing this game?

Thanks!

Well you probably found the answers you're looking for as this post is very old, but in case you did not:

1) I don't think you can farm it. You can, however, get up to three I believe (Henne Mines, Feywood and Balfonheim).

2) Abysteel farming in the Henne Mines was the quickest way I discovered. If you manage to get the rhythm right, you can equip one character with an embroidered tippet and have the other two put all the abysteels to sleep then do a curaja each. Then take out the other two characters and kill all the abysteels with the character with the embroidered tippet on. That will mean all of the experience goes to that one character, and with the embroidered tippet on they'll get 18326 - 18668 experience per abysteel. I think there are 17 abysteels each time, so that would be 311542 - 317356 experience per round. Level 99 requires 13,741,129 experience total, so assuming you start at level 65 (2,964,339 experience), you need 10,776,790 experience or roughly 35 cycles of the abysteels per character you want to hit level 99.

3) I never bothered with getting the danjuro - I personally don't think it's worth it.

4) My yiazmat setup involved switching on windbreakers when Yiazmat readied cyclone. I had one character equipped with a yagyu darkblade and one with a masamune (two yagyu users is better but I didn't want to farm). The yagyu user had genji gloves. The rest of their equipment was just the best armour available, with bubble belt for the masamune user. The third character had a shell shield equipped (can't remember the weapon) along with bubble belt and good armour. Strategy was to reverse+decoy onto the masamune user, beserk the yagyu user and have them on critical HP, and use arise if someone fell (both the masamune user and my third character knew arise, decoy and reverse).

5) I will be replaying at some point, though my more recent playthrough was of the PS4 version. I also now have access to a modded version of IZJS that has an English translation, so may try that out at some point to experience it as it's meant to be harder, even aside from the fact you can only have one job. I suspect there aren't too many playing the original PS2 version, but no doubt they exist.
