They're not bad! Somewhat cartoony, but I'm guessing you're just freehanding them and then coloring them? Are you in art school?

Requests, huh? I have a request. it's obvious, so I won't even bother saying it, but just no goofy poses with her. just something......elegant.

I shall forever wait for the dreams that will never come true

Nay, I wanna be. But right now I'm just a random Gr. 10 student and it will still be a VERY long time until I can actually make drawings as good as art school kids...*swt*. And you're right, they're all freehand (Is there any other way besides free hand?  ???) and coloring. But the Fran one is done straight on a tablet and outlined with pen tool in photoshop 7.0. Anyway, thanks!

@devilman108: Renamon, right? No worries, she's also my favourite digimon ;D. Hmm, I wonder about elegance... I'll think for a bit and make it right away!

--------------------------23/4/2004----------------------------

Renamon fanart finished, but I can't promise it's "elegant".. (There's almost no movement -___-").

--------------------------24/4/2004----------------------------

devilman108 requested links to some tutorials. So here are some awesome and helpful photoshop tutorials I found :):

--Extra Notes:
There are still many tutorails out there but I haven't read them yet. I found a lot of good tutorials in deviantArt. YouTube also has some. So, if you want to go ahead and look first, in deviantArt, just type stuffs like "lineart tutorial", "photoshop tutorial", etc. and make sure you're looking in the 'Popular' search.

Anyway, example of results: in my Fran fanart, I used the 'Soft cell shading' tutorial for most of it. The Renamon fanart was done by filling the base colour first and then using a normal brush with 10% fill and below (darker shading used 3% to 6% fill only). I made the moon with the help of the background tutorial. Both are first sketched in a tablet and then outlined with pen tool with no stimulated pressure.

I improved a lot after reading the tutorials (compare the fran/renamon fanart with the older Zexion one.. *swt* -__-). So...I hope the links are helpful. Best of luck :D!

Another form of drawing is tracing, where you draw on a piece of paper that is over another piece of paper with a picture, you copy that picture. Then there's copyfreehanding, which is my own personal term for when you have a model (whether it be a picture or a person)... and the most hard is freehand, where you make a picture all your own. I can do copy freehanding rather well, but I use pictures as models. infact, i take captions of characters from comic books and draw them, then hang the drawings on my wall. some come out 1000x better than others, like I have Phoenix/Jean Grey, and she looks terrible, but I also have a Nightcrawler and it looks like I traced it right outta the comic, but I didn't. Anyway, you're good for a youngster.
