Final Fantasy VIII (ファイナルファンタジーVIII ~ Fainaru Fantajī Eito) is the eight game in the main series brought out for the Playstation in 1999 and later ported to windows based computers in 2000. Riding forth on the success of Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII scored good sales numbers during the first few weeks.
In Final Fantasy VIII you travel with a group of mercenaries from Balamb Garden. Amongst Balamb Garden trained mercenaries, called SeeD, is Squall Leonhart. Serious to a fault, Squall has earned himself the reputation of being a lone wolf. After just having finished his graduation Squall is contracted by Rinoa's resistance group the Forest Owls. Unknown to both of them there mission to free the Timber invasion soon brings them face to face with the true evil behind the invasion.
