Title: Post your Final Fantasy Collection
Post by: Da_Cloud on December 14, 2008, 02:18:50 PM
We are all a fan of FINAL FANTASY, but how big is your collection? Post it here and compare your collection with those of others, you might discover even things from which you didn't even knew it existed :P

Though this topic is more or less meant to "show off" your collection, it still doesn't mean that with a bigger or smaller collection your better of lower than the rest ;)

Well here is mine collection. I only started with the FINAL FANTASY games around 2003 and I really started building up my collection when I turned 18 which was april 2008. So its hard to come across any original games before FFX, thus most of my older FF's are either Platinum or an remake/port of the game. I decided not to try hard getting the original copy's for those games, unless I run into a nice deal of course.

Also all copies listed below are also the copies I use to play, so the total value of my collection in money probably wouldn't be that high. But I rather calculate the value in the amount of fun I had with it, which is definitely a lot higher :D. I've also included everything I have from Kingdom Hearts since I believe its just as much a FINAL FANTASY spin off series as the crystal conical franchise.

I will also continue to keep the list below up to date, so don't be surprised it its suddenly a lot bigger than the last time you looked ;)

Note that all games are non platinum European versions unless it states different ;)

I do think Tactics is among the stack of PSX Greatest Hits\normal FF games, just that FF9 is covering it.

He does have Tactics Advance.

Very lovely collection tebian!

Imported games:
I want my bank account so I can open up a Paypal and actually put money on it...

Strategy Guides:
Final Fantasy X, X-2, XII, VII, VIII, IX

Collector's items:
Again, I can't import yet. 1.5 years left, then I'll turn 16 and get my bank account opened by my mom. Just you guys wait until then.

How a 14 year old buys all this stuff? Work, lots of chores and all that and saving up money. Yeah, I hate my life with a not well paying job. 1 year and I can work in a grocery store for decent money. You guys just wait. Mine will be the biggest collection ever (not :P)  :P

I started out the same, but within a year time my collection expanded at a rapid speed :D So don't worry about that, it will grow soon enough. But good luck beating Tebian's collection (those pictures he has posted here aren't even his entire collection :o)

Yeah, Tebian has a lot, but I really have a lot in mind. There's so much of this I want to import but that's gotta wait for some time. I'll see what happens :)

@RedChocobo. It's nice for you to have such a big collection but I have to face it, Dirge of Cerberus is like rare or only collector's who don't sell it have it in the EU. Advent Children is something I'd much rather import. There are a lot of stuff I can get here but are either pretty rare or the othr collectors have them. And IZJS is also import for me. So, that's why I wait :)
@Ronso Rage. Nice collection man :D

quick Question
how is mario 3-on-3 related to final fantasy?
Mario Hoops 3-on-3 is related to Final Fantasy because it was developed by Square-Enix and features many references to and characters from the Final Fantasy series. There is a stage called the Marlboro Plains, Marlboros and Bombs appear on a few courses and a Moogle, a Cactuar, a Ninja, a Black Mage, and a White Mage are secret characters. Actually, my White Mage avatar is the character art for White Mage in Mario Hoops 3-on-3.

Yeah, my step-brother's dad made it. Its nearly perfect except for the rainguard. Its a diamond shape instead of a square shape. He said it was hard to screw in a Square like that. My GunBlade is much more accurate. It came in a set of 5 which my brother's friend ordered. He gave us each one and mine is the only one not used for sword fights, so its the only one left. The only thing wrong is that the gun part is completely black instead of just handle of it. I'm gonna paint it right sometime.
I plan on buying this Keyblade off of eBay sometime. Its so cool looking and full metal, except for the handle.

Well it has been a long time since I've shown you guys some updated footage of my collection. So I thought it was time to show you an visual update (if you didn't knew the list in the very first post is being kept up to date).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YSTXPgsrntk

The cards you see around 2:45 are the Museum Art cards that I had double, so instead of locking those cards into a protected sleeve I thought to make a nice collage from it.

I've left the games, cd's and guides out of the video. Might make a vid of them later if you like ;)

1. From everywhere really. I've got a few of them from stores in the Netherlands, a decent amount from a good anime merchandise store located in Belgium, the entire FFXIII section is imported directly from Japan and the rest had to be bought trough ebay as they are sold out and really rare to find (For example the FFVIII section still missing Rinoa which is like really hard to find for a decent price).

2. Those red figures are part of the Coco Cola Figure set. These has 108 figures. There are 54 different characters and each character has both a colored version and a Crystal Red Figure.

3. That collage is made from the double cards I got when buying a box of FFXIII museum art work cards.

4. Those are Gameboy Advance Games. "Final Fantasy Tactics Advance" and "Final Fantasy I & II Dawn of Souls"

5. I guess you mean the large white box. If so that's the Japanese collection box of Final Fantasy X. It contains a copy of Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 along with a bonus disc called "Another Story" Which is a 30 min in game movie explaining a bit more how Yuna ended up with the Gullwings.

6. That's just me being lazy. The first FFXIII you see is the copy that belongs inside the limited edition box, but since I didn't want to ruin the box by constant opening and closing it I placed it next to the box. I'll place it back inside once I've finished the platinum trophy. The second copy of FFXIII is the Japanese version, which I play the most actually, really love the Japanese voices and the Japanese characters aren't that much of a problem in FFXIII.

7. The second shell contains some movies. The 7 parts of Final Fantasy Unlimited, Final Fantasy Advent children (3 versions), Final Fantasy the Spirits Within, a live concert of Final Fantasy Voices and a live concert of the Black Mages. The rest on that shell are all CDs.

8. That are the Ultimana Guides. In other words the Japanese guides. They are really packed with information and despite the fact you usually can't read a word of it you can usually still figure out some handy things, and the artwork alone is already enough for me to buy them anyway.

9. I really wouldn't have a clue. The CDs are all still in perfect shape, but both the games and guides will still show off some wear from being used. And the figures are also still in perfect state but just having unpacked them from the box means already a huge value loss. But I really wouldn't know a number, that would mean I'd have to figure out how much I paid for it all as well :o

Kinda dependent on what you thought of Dissidia itself. Like most fighters the next instalment is in theory just the same game though then with more characters and in Dissidia's case a new element which is the partner system. Both are quite nice for those who also liked the original Dissidia, but if you never really liked the first I wouldn't recommend the second either.

Promised some new videos when I got the 25th ultimate collectors box, so here they are:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glRBJPjLADk

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1L3soR4ZrUY

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wasinmoauWY

Had to split it up in 3 part, Part 1 is mainly my merchandise, Part 2 the Games & Guides and Part 3 all my Music. Might be that some pieces are shown in an other part, I'm running out of storage space so I have to be creative and fill up all the gaps :P

Yup, the problem is that the most "obvious" pieces which I'm missing are easily sold for over $100,- a piece :-\

I own carts/disks for these:

FF1 (NES), FF VI (SNES), FF VII, FF VIII, FF IX, FF X, FF XI (PC), FF XII, FF XIII.

I used to have IV, but sold it years ago.

I just started actually playing Final Fantasy games, so I don't have many and i've only beaten one of them (Crisis Core..) but eh.

Games:
Final Fantasy 7 (PC)
Final Fantasy 7 Crisis Core (PSP)
Final Fantasy 13 (XBox)
Final Fantasy 7 Dirge of Cerberus
~
Kingdom Hearts 1
Kingdom Hearts 2
Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep

Movies:
Final Fantasy Advent Children.

And the only merchandise I have is a necklace with Cloud's sword from Advent Children. And I might buy Dirge of Cerberus. Still thinking about it.. Is it good? Bought it :)

Its a really fun game, as long as you consider the following 2 things.

1) You'll have to be interested in Vincents Tale, as in between chapters you'll be getting a lot of cut scenes.
2) You must not have high standards about shooting games, or at least not expect highly about it in this game. It was made by Japanese people trying to bring the shooter genre under the Japanese, so don't expect something of the western standards in terms of shooting elements.

If you consider those 2 points I'm sure you'll have much fun with the game. Especially now that you can pick up a copy for relatively few coins.

Thanks, I'm definitely gonna go to Gamestop later to buy it ;3

FFI, FF:Mystic Quest, FFII, FFIII, FFIV, FFV, FFVI, FFVII, FFVII:Crisis Core, FFVII:Dirge of Cerberus, FFVIII, FFIX, FFX, FFX-2, FFXII, FFXIII... And uh, does Spirits Within count for anything? lol

A lot of those are on Emulator now, but I still have the carts for all the old ones packed away somewhere. (Even II, III, IV, V, and VI Jap versions! That I never played 'cause I can't read Japanese... lol) Now... If only my parent's attic weren't such a clusterf***...

I would say it does, as does Vagrant Story.
If you ask me personally I'd say the Kingdom Hearts series counts as well, as I see it as an FF spinoff series as well (like the Crystal Chronicles series) :P
On the other hand the 4 Gameboy FF games aren't considered to be FF (as they where just renamed to FF by the USA office to increase sales rates ::))

Well in that case, I own KH, KH2, Vagrant Story, and I forgot to put in Tactics. Never did play CC or Dissidea. I should've thrown KH in there anyways, what with the NPC appearances. And VS, being an Ivalice game. Tactics I always forget since I haven't played it in.....forever lol. Nearly complete FF library :)
