Fusoya's shoddy advice is to defeat the Defense Node.

In the DS Version of the game, if you do that, prepare to be owned by ~2000-3500 damage Laser Barrage by Attack Node, while the Defense Node heals ~857 to the CPU Core.

Well, it's unfortunate you don't have Leviathan, since Leviathan will be your main source of damage during the battle to the CPU Core, damaging the Attack Node and healing the Defense Node. Well, just kill the Attack Node first, and use your elemental spells/Bio on the CPU Core, ignoring the Defense Node. Well you'll slowly chip off the CPU's HP, but it should work. The CPU has ungodly high Melee defense though...

However, in previous versions, you could follow FuSoYa's advice, because the Defense node heals 3000 to the CPU Core in those versions

Yeah it's not a good idea to do that, Globe 199 (I'm not sure what it's called in the DS version, I think it's Object 199, oh well, I need to fight Proto-Babil to find out) will wipe out a lot of the party.

The Attack node wiped out Edge and Fusoya during my battle with the CPU core, even though I was horribly overlevelled...

Well my plans are to now get Artemis Bow, 4 more Pink Tails, and Glass Mask, and finally defeat the final boss, and follow my own augment guide after that !

Is there ever a way to get Palom and Porom back in your team?

In the DS version, no. The party members switching is GBA exclusive unfortunately.

Instead, Augments replace that system in the DS version.

That's why I only have the GBA version.

I plan to go through the Lunar Ruins probably over 100 times to get enough Golden/Silver Apples to raise everybody's HP to 9999.

I've been using Dragon a lot, which hurts the CPU a lot. Downside, it also hurts the nodes. I'll have to find another summon that'll do the job. I have Edge throwing millions of shurikens, Cecil attacking, Rosa and Fusoya healing with Curaga. I may try Fusoya and Rydia spamming maybe some water spell, if it isn't ranged, i dunno. I need to experiment. Still, I think I'm doing pretty good for my very first playthrough of FF4. I bet the older version will be a piece of cake after this xD

Why is Fusoya spelled FuSoYa in the older versions?

I have no idea, same with KluYa. I guess the developers didn't like the idea of the Lunarians having capital letters in the middle of their names

I've heard the Defense node absorbs everything, but it's not the case with Holy elemental here, seeing as Dragon is holy elemental.

I think your best bet is to cast Thundaga and summon Ramuh, hopefully the Attack node dies soon.

Luck has been cruel with me. It gives me 7 Ribbons from Dark Sages, 10 Minerva Bustiers, and 40 Artemis Arrows from Moongoddesses instead of an Artemis Bow  :'(
I'm giving up on it, and I'm going to go for the Artemis Bow once I get on my third playthrough!

I've revised my whole Augment guide since I found a fatal error in my plan, due to the fact that I got Rydia and Kain's augments mixed up !

But I've found a solution to my problem! Revised yet again
I have two versions,
one for Kain's Limit Break Adrenaline 3x Focus Darkness Jump, and one for Rydia's Limit Break Adrenaline Dualcast Meteor!
Oh, both have Twincast Adrenaline Limit Break Ultima!

I think I can defeat Proto-Babil on my second playthrough, we'll see

Nice Job though

Well, I beat the CPU, got some very cool and spoiler-ific scenes and a flashback , and then did some more. Now I am wandering aimlessly in the Subtearrean Cave or something, and everywhere I go is dead ends :'( I got the Masamune though and then the Black Garb as well. But the stupid hidden passages are getting on my nerves. I just don't know where to go to continue through the cave. Got an idea?

I'm currently farming the rest of my 5 Pink Tails, hopefully I can get them before my FFIV DS Lite Protector Kit arrives!

That's good to know that you've beat the CPU! I know my way around the secret passages since I've cleared FFIV before, and there is one that's really sneaky, and it isn't in a wall, so watch out for that . Actually the katana for Edge should be Murasame, the boss you defeated for it was White Dragon. I thought an Armored Fiend was inside the Black Garb chest, but to my surprise, it contained an Armored Construct . Watch out for the Blue and Red Dragon enemies, since they will really kill you if you're not careful!
